Applied Flow Technology ChemPak Viewer 2.0 2010-01-28

Traditionally obtained from printed references,
fluid properties are frequently needed for
activities requiring more dynamic data. Using the
technology of the acclaimed ChempakTM
thermo physical property database, AFT now brings
the engineering and scientific communities three
products that make fluid property data availability
as dynamic as their analyses:
Chempak Property Database
Chempak Viewer
Chempak Add in (for Excel)
Chempak Property Database

The Chempak Property database provides comprehensive
thermo physical properties on a wide range of fluids
to AFTs pipe flow modeling software and to Chempak
Viewer and Chempak Add in.

For incompressible pipe flow analysis, the Chempak
Property Database provides ~700 fluids to AFT
FathomTM along with the ability to assemble
non reacting pre mixtures. For compressible flow
analysis, data on ~600 gases is available to AFT
ArrowTM along with the capability to both assemble
pre mixtures and analyze dynamic mixing resulting
from intersecting flow streams.

With fluids listed by up to three commonly used
names, the formula and chemical structure, and able
to sort on any of these identifiers, finding a
specific fluid from the large number available is a
quick and easy proposition.

Chempak Viewer

A powerful, easy to use interface, Chempak Viewer
lets you access the Chempak Property Database as a
stand alone application. Select any of the over 700
fluids contained in the database or assemble
non reacting mixtures on a mass or mole basis. Fluid
or mixture properties may be calculated for any
combination of the available input parameters,
either as a single point input or a range of inputs.

Output Control provides ready selection of output
parameters to display, their order and units. Units
may also be changed on the fly by double clicking
on an output column header. Full control over the
units appearing in selection lists is available
through Unit Preferences, which also provides unit
definitions and saving of preferences to file. Fluid
and mixture sets may be saved for quick recall
though the Recent Fluids list. A user specified name
may be defined for any fluid or mixture and appears
along with the standard Chempak name.

Tabular output may be printed or exported for import
to a spreadsheet for presentation or secondary
calculations. Alteatively, a selected portion of
the output may be copied directly to the Windows
clipboard and pasted into a spreadsheet.

Graphical output of a wide variety of parameters are
available with Chempak Viewers Graph Properties.
Customization options include full control over
colors, fonts, labels, markers and line formats, and
a selection of 2D or 3D graph styles. Graphs may be
printed or saved as a bitmap or Windows metafile for
importing into other documents.

Chempak Add in (for Excel)

In conjunction with Chempak Property Database,
Chempak Add in lets you directly access Chempak
fluid property functions from within a Microsoft
Excel spreadsheet. Your spreadsheet based
calculations can now have comprehensive and highly
accurate fluid properties imbedded as a dynamic part
of your analysis.

Chempak functions may be selected with Paste
Function or directly entered as you would with any
Excel function. Selection of fluids, assembling
mixtures and setting unit preferences are all
available from the Chempak menu, as well as a
comprehensive online guide.

The potential applications of Chempak Add in are as
limitless as a spreadsheet.
