The Daily Show, known in its current incaation as The Daily Show with Jon Stewart,
is an American late night satirical television program airing each Monday to Thursday
on Comedy Central in the United States. The 30 min long show premiered on July 21,
1996, and was hosted by Craig Kilbo until December 1998. Jon Stewart took over as
host in January 1999, bringing a number of changes to the shows content. Under Stewart
The Daily Show has become more strongly focused around politics and national media,
in contrast with the more character driven focus during Kilbos tenure.


David Plouffe (bo May 27, 1967) is an American political strategist best known as
the chief campaign manager for Barack Obamas 2008 presidential campaign in the
United States. A long time Democratic Party campaign consultant, he is a partner at
the party aligned campaign consulting firm AKPD Message and Media, which he joined
in 2000.
