Muster 4.0 is Virtual Vertex solution to manage complex and cross platform
render farms for the best 3D and 2D packages available on the market. The
latest version, after 4 years of hard studies and implementations on the
biggest production studious in the world, has reached a new level in
stability and flexibility including a new powerfull set of features:


Dynamic
Muster 4.3 is a dynamic service. You can connect or disconnect machines
from the render farm without stopping your rendering process. Muster will
recognize each modify on the farm and will automatically recover any
active render in a transparent way.

Muster is totally fault tollerance. It requeues packets assigned to
crashed machines, checks for missing frames and frames sizes differences.
Its also able to detect machines locks and to reroute packets.


Multiplatform
Muster 4.3 is totally multiplatform on render client side. You still need
a dedicated Windows NT/2000/XP machine to manage the farm but you can
install the render client service on Linux, Irix 6.5 and Mac OS X and
manage them in a transparent way. Choose the best operating system for
your environment and use all the power of your studio.


Multiengine
Muster 4.3 can interface with the best 3D and 2D packes available on the
market (depending on the availability of such engine on the render client
OS): AliasWavefront Maya 4.0, 4.5, 5.0 and 6.0, Softimage3D,
SoftimageXSI, Newtek Lightwave, 3D Studio Max 6.0, Apple Shake, Adobe
After Effects 6.0, Mental Ray for Maya or Standalone. If your render
engine is not included in the list, you can customize Muster to interface
with unsupported engines using the User Jobs feature.


Single image slicing
Muster 4.3 can use the region rendering function of some engines to split
a single frame image across several machines. This gives users a wonderful
tool to generate test renderings or big printing images in a bunch of
seconds. On maya jobs, the single frame assembles images in native iff
format preserving alpha and depth channels.
