Avids new patent pending MetaSync technology allows users to synchronizevirtually any kind of metadata with video and audio content during thepostproduction process. The MetaSync feature is now standard withinWindows based versions of Avid Symphony 4.0, Media Composer 11.0,Film Composer 11.0, Media Station XL 11.0, Avid Xpress 5.0,and NewsCutter 3.0 products.

As long as a file type or process can be represented in the appropriateXML format, it can now be imported into Avid editing systems using theMetaSync feature and synchronized with video and audio. In the timeline,pointers to the original file can be positioned, trimmed and edited just likevideo and audio clips. The file can then be launched in its original formatfrom directly within the Avid system to be viewed or updated, and any changesmade are instantly reflected in the timeline and bin.
